They're Engaged!

They're Engaged!  I was so excited when my bff's little sister called me and asked me to photograph her engagement photos.  (and a little bummed that I have a prior commitment and won't be able to photograph their wedding)  Anyway, I met her fiancĂ© a couple of years ago at the lake, and there was just something about the two of them....  They are such a fun couple, great looking and so full of life!  Just look at the pictures below...you can see how they just love each other and can have fun together!  I couldn't be happier for them!  Congrats M & K!

Oh, and let me add that it was FREEZING out when these were taken, but they rocked it!

This picture below is one of my favs ever!  I just love the yummy creamy light coming in this alley way!   It's like they're just glowing!

And I have to say....I'm on M's side for the pix below... Go Rockets!  (my alma mater)

A Pittsburgh Wedding | Julie Marie Portraits

Hi Everybody!  Hope you're all still with me!?!?  I know it's been a while since I've blogged.  It's not that I haven't wanted to...it's just that things have been so crazy around here!  The weddings were in full swing from the end of April, and they're just now winding down.  That in itself has kept me quite busy...no complaints at all, but it required a LOT of traveling.  I have so many weddings to share with you that I don't even know where to begin.  I also have a TON of kiddos and family sessions to share, too.  Anyway, we had a family vacation at the end of July/first of August, and we came back for a few days then had to make an unexpected trip to Ohio for my grandfather's funeral.  We, then, survived the "HURRIQUAKE" as everybody here is calling it, and I think I'm almost caught up and ready to breath a little....

So, with that, I'll share with you Ali & Carlos.  Their wedding took place at the Phipps Conservatory private garden in Pittsburgh.  It was an absolutely gorgeous venue, but even more so, it was probably one of the most special ceremonies I have ever been to.  The bride and groom wrote their own vows, and  there were quite a few tears that could be seen while listening to them.

I'm going to try to play catch up over the next few months, so just bear with me!

LOVE

Love - this word clearly describes the couple below!  I had the pleasure of photographing this wedding in Dover, Delaware with the help of second shooter, Joanne.  It was a beautiful day and a very beautiful and elegant wedding filled with lots of family and friends.    Thanks R & S for allowing me to be a part of your day!  Hope you had a fantastic honeymoon, and you are enjoying married life!

One detail that I had to share.....if you look at the last photos, you'll see "exit" signs that were used for the table decorations!  The exits represented how many exits the bride and groom lived apart and how many exits that had to go past to be together!  How creative!!

K|S Las Vegas Wedding

2This couple is very near and dear to my heart.   I met K (the bride) and her family 16 years ago.....that sounds like a crazy long time ago to me....I think I was only 8 at the time! (haha)  K's sister is actually my best friend, so you can only imagine how much I love and adore K and her family!  So, when they asked if I'd want to come to Vegas to shoot the wedding, I was truly honored to be a part of their special day, and of course....who doesn't want to go to Vegas to shoot a gorgeous wedding! :)

The wedding took place at The Wynn....such a gorgeous venue!  The Wynn has a policy where they won't allow outside photographer's to photograph the ceremony, but they worked it out so I could do everything else.  The day couldn't have been more perfect for S&K.  K was such a stunning and gorgeous bride, and S was the perfect, handsome groom!   They really are that couple who you'd want to be like.....so full of life, so fun and just so good to each other!

absolutely stunning, and I love the pockets in her dress!

Lets just say the reception was a blast!
The picture on the left is the groom with his brother and sister dancing to, "Staying Alive"....it's a tradition thing that they do this together! The picture on the right is K's dad and brother-in-law (he's married to my bff......i had never seen him dance the way he did that night!) :)

and check out K's 94 year old grandma that made the Vegas trip and was gettin' down on the dance floor!

Congrats to K & S!  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
